Director of Midwifery

Chief Nurse EamonnWelcome

Thank you for your interest in the Royal Berkshire Hospitals Director of Midwifery Position.

Our current post holder is retiring after 40 years’ dedicated service to the organisation and the wider NHS.

This is an amazing opportunity for the right person to work within a forward thinking and innovative team who are committed to the diverse community that we serve.

We are looking for a senior Midwifery Leader who can think and influence strategically at the highest levels of the Trust – as well as being a visible and engaged leader, supporting our brilliant people to reach their full potential.

Internally – this is an opportunity to work alongside a talented Obstetric Lead and build upon the stable quality foundation that the outgoing Director has built, including the Trust being rated in the top three performing organisations in the South East of England for Ockenden assurance.

Externally, the new Director of Midwifery will be a key influencer in across the wider system, representing the Trust and their profession throughout the newly created Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB).

In order to support the new Director of Midwifery, we have taken the opportunity to review and strengthen our Midwifery Leadership team – the new Director of Midwifery will have the benefit of funding for a newly created Head of Midwifery Post and a contemporary and significantly enhanced Compliance and Assurance Team – both platforms for the new post holder to build upon as the Team aspires to be a CQC ‘Outstanding Rated’ service.

In short – this is great opportunity to work in an organisation with a stable and engaged Board and with a commitment to developing future NHS Leaders – notably through our established Executive Leadership development links with Henley Business School.

Thanks once again for your interest.

Please don’t hesitate to email me to discuss the position or arrange an informal visit.
